Annual sports day was celebrated in Sevalaya’s Mahakavi Bharathiyar Hr.Sec school at Kasuva centre,
Thiruvallur on 28th February 2023.
S Yogeshwaran MD,Matexnet Pvt Ltd,V M Ravi Venkatesh,Former Nationals Coach,State TT player and
Senior state TT coach and V Vasu,Former Nationals Coach,state TT player,Junior State TT coach were
the Chief guests of the function.
The students presented a cultural programme.
S Yogeshwaran said that everyone at Sevalaya is working for the benefit of the students. The institution
is committed to providing quality education and support to its students, enabling them to succeed in
life. He urged the students to study well and excel in their academic pursuits.
In addition to academic success, he also emphasized the importance of sports. He encouraged students
to pursue their passion for sports and strive to become state-level players. He highlighted the benefits of
being a sports player, such as getting a place in college under the sports quota and securing a good job.
Earlier Various sports competitions were conducted for the students studying at Sevalaya’s Mahakavi
Bharathiyar School from 3rd February 2023 to 25th February 2023.
The students were divided into three groups named Bharathiyar, Gandhi, and Vivekananda, and a total
of 1600 students from Montessori toStd IX participated in the competitions. The events included 100
mts and 200 mts running, Long jump, Shotput, Handball, Basketball, Throwball, and Football.
For primary school students, competitions like the running race for 30 mts and 60 mts, Hurdle run
(40mts), Throw Ball, and Long jump were conducted.
In total, 43 individual events were conducted for both boys and girls.
The chief guests distributed the medals and certificates to the winners. (Gold medals -238, Silver
medals,- 238, Bronze medals-124 ).
6 Students from Std VII to IX got individual championships.
The Vivekananda team got 300 points and won the Overall Championship in the event. The Bharathiyar
team earned 214 points and the Gandhi team earned 203 points.
Seetharaman Narayanan, a donor from the USA, sponsored the prizes for the events. Matexnet Pvt Ltd
provided sponsorship for sports equipment and funding for four coaches for a period of one year.
Earlier B Nirmala,HM,Admin welcomed the gathering. A Sankarapandian, Physical Director, proposed
the vote of thanks.
