Sevalaya Clinches Legacy Award for Longstanding Contribution to Education

Sevalaya, a registered charitable trust headquartered in Chennai, has won the Legacy Award for Longstanding Contribution to Education by Prime India Foundation in the first edition of Shiksha Sakthi Awards 2025.

V Muralidharan, Founder and Managing Trustee, Sevalaya, received the award from H E Leonard Mengezi- High Commissioner of the Republic of Malawi to India and Thiagarajan- Actor and Philanthropist. Dr H V Hande- Chairman, Hande Hospital and Former Health Minister of Tamil Nadu, Vinod Sharma- Founder- Prime India Foundation and Honorary Consul of Malawi, M Kathiraven – Editor and Publisher- Town News and Dr K Kumaran- Educator and Entrepreneur were also present.

A 37 year old NGO, Sevalaya has served more than 16 lakh underprivileged in the fields of education, skill development, health, environment, welfare and rural development. Celebrating achievements in education, the Shiksha Sakthi Awards recognised schools, institutions and individuals in seven categories at a ceremony hosted at Taj Connemara,
Chennai, on 15 November 2025.
