Montessori Students Showcase Learning at Sevalaya’s Annual Exhibition

The annual Montessori Exhibition was inaugurated on 11 Mar 2026 at Sevalaya’s centre in Kasuva village, near Thiruninravur, Tiruvallur. The exhibition showcased exhibits made by students of the Montessori section of Sevalaya’s Mahakavi Bharathiyar Higher Secondary School.

Sandya B, Associate Director – DTCC graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, along with a team from DTCC. Sevalaya volunteer Punitha was also present. The guests went through the various exhibits presented by the students. The guests congratulated the students for their clear explanations and gave them sweets in appreciation.

Speaking on the occasion, Sandya said, “We are highly impressed with the quality of the presentation made by the students. The Montessori system of teaching encourages children to learn through drawing and fun activities. Through this method, children can shine in whichever domain they choose.DTCC is very proud to sponsor Sevalaya’s activities. Montessori education is being provided for free at Sevalaya. Education will help us reach great heights. All students should aim to become a great person like Dr Abdul Kalam. We will continue to support Sevalaya in the future”.

The Chief Guest felicitated Montessori students who won various competitions such as Bharathiyar Aathichoodi, Thirukkural recitation, and BGV (Bharathi-Gandhi-Vivekananda) quotes recitation. The Chief Guest also felicitated students with 100% attendance and Best Student awards.

Earlier, V Muralidharan, Founder and Managing Trustee, Sevalaya welcomed the gathering. He thanked DTCC for its constant support over the years for Sevalaya’s activities, especially for the tribal communities in Gudalur. “Kindergarten students presented their exhibition very well today. The Montessori method of teaching provides education through shapes and colours that children can see and hear, instead of rote learning. Sevalaya is providing this quality education free of cost,” he said.

Students presented engaging cultural performances. Revathi K, Headmistress (Primary)- Sevalaya, delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the parents, teachers and staff who ensured the exhibition was successful. A memento was presented to the Chief Guest by Vijaya R, Head – Education.
