Medical Centres

With full-time doctors, nursing and paramedical staff, 6 Medical centres across Tamil Nadu in Kasuva (Tiruvallur), Kiloy, Thathanur and Vengadu (Kancheepuram), Pattinapakkam (Chennai), Thillaiyadi (Mayiladuthurai) provide free health-care services, including medicines to the rural population from surrounding villages and also children, elders and staff at Sevalaya centres. These centres are also equipped with physiotherapy and laboratory services.

Medical Camps

Regular medical camps are also conducted in the villages surrounding Sevalaya centres.

Mobile Medical Vans

Mobile Medical Vans in Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Gudalur (The Nilgiris) and Thillaiyadi (Mayiladuthurai) take healthcare to remote / hilly areas, providing a range of preventive and curative health services and enable timely referrals for further care.

Mental Health

Sevalaya children come from homes with various domestic challenges.  Qualified counselling psychologists who work full-time at Sevalaya, regularly counsel school students, home children, elders, Community College students, staff and underprivileged women from surrounding villages.

Counsellors conduct over 1,000 sessions monthly, ensuring regular follow-ups.

Health Awareness Programmes

Awareness programmes for villagers on various health related topics such as Covid-19, vaccinations, diabetes, anaemia, dengue, hypertension, alcohol abuse, reproductive health are conducted regularly.

Cultural and health awareness programmes are conducted on the occasion of Children’s Day in government hospitals across Tamil Nadu.

Menstrual Hygiene awareness programmes are conducted for adolescent underprivileged girls in various rural and government schools.

Awareness regarding the HPV virus that causes cervical and other cancers are carried out with free HPV vaccinations.
