Sevalaya students secured 99.3% results in Std X Board exams. 126 out of 127 students cleared the exam with excellent grades. 66 students got more than 80% social (400/500), 22 students got 70% and above and 24 scored 60%. Ten students secured 100/100 in Social Science, and many students missed centums in other subjects by a whisker. This result has been possible only due to the continuous support of well-wishers and donors, the perseverance of the students and sincere efforts of the staff.
The result is even more impressive considering the fact that these students are all first generation learners, coming from extremely underprivileged background. One of the students V.Surya has a physical disability and needed the help of a scribe to write the exams. His father would carry him to the exam centre. However his hard efforts resulted in his getting 391 /500.
R Sangeetha – 480/500 was the school topper, R Bhavani came a close second securing 479/500 and G Kirubakaran secured 478/500.
