Sevalaya’s active participation in World Book Day

In the knowledge industry libraries play vital role, particularly shaping the students. Sevalaya’s 3 libraries situated in the campus, are extensively used by teachers, students and youth from 40 plus villagers in the vicinity. Sevalaya has taken an initiative of visiting 2 government schools in Thiruvallur district, Nathamedu Government Middle school and Melappedu Government Middle school. To mark “World Book Day” our high school teacher Mr. Vijayaraghavan addressed the students in the schools referred above, and explained at length the need and greater use of visiting libraries, which will help them to gain unlimited knowledge. He went on to port a famous saying that “A book of information is more than equal to 10 teachers”. Thus, he explained the “Importance of reading books”. The highlight of the visit was team Sevalaya lent valuable books to the students. Students were impressively explained on the need to cultivate reading habits with the help of power point presentation. A convincing speech and a play was staged which scripted the benefits of books reading.
