V Surya was carried to the examination hall by his father, on the first day of his Std X Board exams. Sevalaya spoke to Examination authorities for making special arrangement to take his exams in the ground floor, and to arrange for a scribe to transcribe his answers. Sevalaya also arranged for transport for Surya.
Surya who is afflicted with Rickets, lost the use of his limbs when he was 12 years old. Having lost his mother when he was 13, he is cared for by his father, a tailor.
He has been a student of Sevalaya since Balwadi. His teachers are constantly amazed by his determination and positive attitude. He is confident of scoring high marks in the Board exams, and aims to become an entrepreneur, after completing his studies.
