Sevalaya Murali received the Lifetime achievement award presented by the Soka Ikeda College of Arts and Science for Women, Chennai on 8th August 2017, at the college premises.
Sevalaya was chosen among the NGOs that were shortlisted for the award on the basis of services rendered to the underprivileged, transparency, delivery of projects, longevity of service, methodologies implemented and impact on the rural communities.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Muthusami Kumaran, Associate Professor of Non-Profit Management and Community Organisation, Department of Family, Youth and Community Sciences, University and Florida, USA, proclaimed that Sevalaya is the only organisation that provides all the services totally free of cost to its beneficiaries consistently from inception.
