Sevalaya and Asian paints bring clean drinking water to Adigathur village

Sevalaya, in its quest for rural development has partnered with Asian paints to bring clean drinking water to Adigathur village. The project, aptly titled ‘Water ATM’, will be treated and stored in a tank and distributed on a ‘pay-as-you-drink’ model, to the villagers. The cost is very nominal and each family is issued with a card, from where they can draw the drinking water (10 lit at ₹ 1). The quantity of water will be fixed by the local panchayat and the nominal charge collected will go towards the maintenance of the water tank.
