Sevalaya team won the Award for the best Cultural Program at the Indepencence Day celebrations at the District Collectorate, Thiruvallur on 15th August 2015. Eight schools from the district participated in this program. K. Veera Raghava Rao, IAS, Dist. Collector,
Thiruvallur presented a shield and participation certificate to Sevalaya students and congratulated them. The theme of the event was “Tricolor Flag” and the participants had to perform with the least cost resources available.
Sevalaya decided to use tri color hand fans as their inexpensive resource and presented the dance. Human wave action gave the flag flying movement. 31 students of Std IX and XI who performed the dance were trained by Nithyanandham, Physical Education
Trainer, Sevalaya. Student’s performance was excellent and kindled the patriotic
fervor among the audience.
The theme was meant to inspire the public to do something for our country. The ultimate message; Be Proud to be an Indian.
