As a part of Daan Utsav, to promote understanding of the diversity in society Sevalaya has planned the Gift Compassion event in partnership with 10 urban schools.
On 5th October 2016, first day of the event 240 students from various schools (Sri Kanaka Saraswathi Vidyalaya, Sri Niketan School, Oxford School, Grace Park School, Thiruvallur surrounding) visited Sevalaya campus. The Children interacted with each other and exchanged small handmade gifts with smile.
The highlight of the event was Gayathri, Std V from Sri Kanaka Saraswathi Vidyalaya. She explained to her Father about Daan Utsav and bought 22 pens, pencils, erasers and 10 notebooks for Sevalaya students. She came to Sevalaya with her teacher yesterday and presented all the gifts to the children and enjoyed the day with them.
An opportunity for the children to experience the joy of giving and learn to be compassionate!
