Sevalaya is pleased to report that it celebrated our Republic Day celebrations with several activities, with active participation of its alumni group.
Mr. S. Ashok, alumni, participated as Chief Guest to all functions of the day. The functions started with his hoisting National Flag in the precinct of the campus at 8.30 am.
Sevalaya delightfully recalls his career growth: After completing his School final in Sevalaya, he did his Engineering Degree in Anna University, successfully completed and joined C.T.S. a global I.T. major. He contributed his first-month salary in full to Sevalaya, to express his gratitude. Two more alumni accompanied him to participate in all the activities of Republic Day Celebrations and events (services).
Mr. G. Raghavendra, alumni, studied in Sevalaya’s Mahakavi Bharathiyar Higher Secondary School, stayed in its Hostel, studied well and come up in his career. He is now Vice President, Standard Chartered Bank Global Business Solutions, a multi-national corporate, also actively participated in all the activities.
Mr. Ilayaraja, alumni, currently a member of Sevalaya’s Board of Trustees, working in Capegemini, another IT major, a multi-national organization, President of Sevalaya’s Alumni Association, also participated in the events and guided all.
All the alumni members shared their experiences, recalled their school days, how effectively they could pursue their studies in Sevalaya and how they are helpful in their higher studies and getting honorable placements.
School Students performed cultural, by singing patriotic songs, which drew loud applause of the audience, comprising 40 plus villagers, students’ parents, among others.
The highlight of the day’s celebrations was a Blood donation camp was held from 9.30 am to 12.30 noon. 86 persons donated blood.
Most importantly, as scheduled earlier, farewell for the outgoing 12th Std. Students, was held. The students, naturally became emotional on their benefitting by Sevalaya’s consistent help in their educational career. They declared amid tears, nowhere one could get this measure of help, which Sevalaya has been rendering with a very large heart. They thanked Sevalaya and its teachers for this. Teachers, while addressing them, advised them on how to pursue their career and come up in their lives.
National song was in chorus and sweets distributed to all.
